jfid – The main objective of the joint military exercise between South Korea and the United States (US) is to build a strategic partnership and enhance collective defense capabilities against nuclear and military threats from North Korea.

The exercise also aims to improve interoperability between US and South Korean forces, as well as strengthen the combined military readiness to face unforeseen situations on the Korean Peninsula.

The joint military exercise between South Korea and the United States, known as “Ulchi Freedom Shield,” has been a crucial part of both countries’ defense strategy for decades.

The exercise is designed to test and enhance joint defense capabilities, ensuring that both countries are prepared to confront any potential threats, particularly from North Korea, which has frequently shown military aggression.

This year, the number of troops deployed for the exercises has doubled compared to previous years, indicating a heightened commitment from both countries to strengthen their military alliance.

Major General Kim Hong-hee, spokesperson for the South Korean Ministry of Defense, stated that the exercise aims to “strengthen joint operational capabilities and enhance interoperability between our forces.”
